ABOUT POWER OF TOUCH WORKSHOPS

We started the Power of Touch Couple’s Massage Workshops in 2011 and have had over 5,000 couples participate in one of our workshops since then. We have had many couples tell us that our workshops have helped them transform their relationship which was, and continues to be, one of our strongest motivations for offering these workshops.

ABOUT OUR INSTRUCTORS

Our instructors are very special. Beyond them all being highly qualified professionally, they are positive, affirming and love teaching these workshops. They are also very good with people and make our workshops as fun as they are effective.

In addition to Joe and Wendy below, we also have some other amazing therapists from our Seattle area massage practices (Touch Factor Massage, Massage Reimagined and The Spa Reimagined) that will help with or lead our workshops from time to time.  Each of our instructors have years of experience and a special commitment to helping their students learn.

Joe Lavin

Massage Therapist

Joe Lavin is a skilled instructor who first became interested in body work through his career in kick boxing and MMA (Mixed MArtial Arts). For several years, he traveled the world, fighting professionally in places like Thailand, the Philippines, Canada, and the United States. Because professional fighting takes a toll on the body, he ended up having experience with a variety of body work styles. Growing more interested in the work, he eventually decided to become a Licensed Massage Therapist, Reiki Master and Certified Personal Trainer.

Joe is a nationally certified provider of continuing education for licensed massage therapists as well as a certified infant massage instructor. He has also taught yoga, martial arts, and certification courses for the National Federation of Personal Trainers. He is passionate about the power of touch to transform lives and strives to help others learn in a way that is comfortable for them.

Wendy Lavin

Physical Therapist

Wendy Lavin graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Sports Medicine from Pennsylvania State University. She later obtained a Master’s in Physical Therapy from Hahnemann University, a Master’s in Orthopedic Manual Therapy from The Ola Grimsby Institute, and is working on finishing a Doctorate in Manual Physical Therapy. She is a Licensed Physical Therapist with over 20 years of professional experience.

Outside of work, Wendy enjoys running, cycling, and hiking. She believes that exercise and relaxation are great ways for couples to grow closer, and is passionate about helping others live healthier, happier lives.
