Baby Massage Videos

I recently finished my training as a Certified Educator of Infant Massage from the International Association of Infant Massage and I am now facilitating Infant Massage Workshops. There are a number of great reasons to attend an infant massage workshop with your baby, just as there are a number of great reasons that people choose to become an Infant Massage Facilitator or Educator. One of my main reasons for doing this is to help parents, both mothers and fathers, develop even deeper bonds with their babies (as well as each other) by routinely giving them massages. This is in addition to all of the wonderful physiological and developmental benefits of infant massage.

So, I thought it would be nice to add some videos that relate to baby massage for those of you that might be interested. You can click here for more information on Infant Massage Workshops. Most of the videos are from different organizations and might even have different underlying philosophies...but that is ok., I think we can all get along for a little while :-)

Warning: These videos can create false expectations! :-) These are professionally produced videos with very compliant little babies, things almost never go this smoothly at first. It takes time for you and your baby to develop a good massage routine. That is why most infant massage workshops are done over four to six weeks.

I love this introduction video from the Little Kidz Foundation. It gives a very quick overview of some of the important concepts that would  be explained more fully in an infant massage workshop series.

I think this is a pretty good example of a what a baby massage demonstration would look like. No bells and whistles, just pretty straight forward.

OK, so these next two are not technically baby massage videos...but they are so beautiful! Also, I think a warm bath is a great way to get a baby to calm down and still themselves so that they can relax and enjoy their parent's touch.

Some infant massage techniques presented by Isis Parenting. I think this is a well done presentation of some good techniques for massaging your baby.

This is a short demonstration from the Weleda organization.
